Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced a National Internship Program. According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "With over 60 teams scheduled to begin play next season, the league has openings for about 600 interns nationwide. Teams are looking for college students majoring in sports management, business, broadcasting, marketing, journalism, and advertising and public relations to work on a variety of projects to hearn about the business of basketball from the inside. "It will be a great opportunity for anyone interested in getting into professional sports and it will be a good way to earn money also. Full and parttime intern positions are available," Newman added. If you are interested, please send your resume to joenewman@abalive.com. We are having a league meeting on Friday, April 7th and I'll make sure that your resume gets to the team owners." For more information, visit www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
