Tacoma Navigators News Release

(TACOMA, WA)-The Tacoma Navigators professional basketball team's star shooting guard Tim Ellis was named to the post-season All-ABA team on Friday. Ellis, a 6'4" two-year ABA standout from Seattle's famed Rainier Beach High School averaged 33.5 points per game and set the single-game scoring record of 53 points against the Bellevue Blackhawks--Tacoma's arch rival and Ellis' former team--while posting 16 double-doubles (points and rebounds) on the season. He adds All-ABA honors to his season awards that include 2005-06 ABA All-Star and team MVP. Ellis, who was also named one of the top players in minor league basketball by ProBasketballNews.com, averaged 42.0 points per game in last season's playoff run with Bellevue, including 46 in the 2004-05 ABA Championship game against the Arkansas Rimrockers.

Team president Michael Tuckman said: "Tim Ellis can do practically anything on the basketball court. He can score almost at will from the perimeter, and he hits the boards like a much bigger player. I'd love to have him back next season, but he's ready for the NBA right now."

The Tacoma Navigators posted a .625 winning percentage in their maiden ABA season and Tuckman announced last week that the team is looking forward to the 2006-07 ABA season.
