Ontario Fury News Release

ONTARIO, CALIF. - The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, is proud to announce that they will be a charter member in the newly former Major Arena Soccer League.

The new league, which was officially announced today at an owners meeting in Baltimore, Maryland, is a merger of teams from the Professional Arena Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League, the latter of which ceased operations at the end of the 2013-14 season. The new league currently has 24 teams committed to play in the 2014-15 season this November.

"We're very excited to join the new league," said Bernie Lilavois, the Fury's president and coach from the meetings in Baltimore. "Having played in nearly every indoor soccer league in North America during my playing career, I am thrilled that there will be a united front going forward for the sport. Having such storied franchises such as San Diego, Baltimore, Milwaukee and Dallas all in the same league will be great for the growth of our sport."

Lilavois is in transit back to Ontario, and will not be available for further comment.

Of the 24 teams currently set to play in the 2014-15 season, there are six former MISL teams, 16 former PASL squads and two expansion franchises. A full list of teams can be found at the bottom of this release.

Final details for the new league, including division alignments, are still being finalized, but will not delay the start of the 2014-15 season. Each team will play 20 regular season games - 10 home, 10 away. The full schedule will be announced in September, but the league will kickoff Oct. 25 with a game between the Dallas Sidekicks and defending MISL champion Missouri Comets.

The announcement of the new league will not affect the upcoming PASL-Premier Summer season, which the Fury will kick off June 1 at the Scheu Family YMCA in Upland. The Fury will be having tryouts for the Premier team from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at the Scheu Family YMCA. Registration for the tryouts is $30 in advance and $40 cash the morning of the tryouts. For information about the tryouts, go to ontariofury.com/tryouts.

Season ticket packages, starting as low as $90 per seat, are now on sale through the Fury's offices. Season tickets include the same great seat for every home game, with invitations to special events and parking included. For information, go to ontariofury.com or call 909-240-5242.
