Orange County Flyers News Release
The Orange County Flyers rallied for five runs in the 9th inning, but dropped a 10-9 decision to the Reno SilverSox Thursday at Peccole Park.
The Flyers (17-18) fell into an early hole and were dealt an early blow when Ben Fox left with an illness after retiring just one batter and giving up four runs.
Meanwhile, Adam Harendza pitched seven innings to win his first game of the season for Reno.
The Flyers trailing 6-1 got a three-run homerun from Buddy Morales to pull within two. And then, trailing 10-4 in the 9th, Garry Templeton II struck for a three-run bomb to make it 10-7.
Eric Thomas earned his 7th save by retiring Mark Okano, who was the go-ahead run in the 9th.
Peanut Williams extended his streak of reaching base safely to 48 games with a 2nd inning double.
Game two of the four game series will be Friday at 7 p.m. on KWRM 1370 AM and orangecountyflyers.com.
