DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth concluded the regular season on Saturday night on HealthONE Field at Pepsi Center against the Edmonton Rush in a final tune-up for the postseason. Edmonton pulled away in the second half to win, 13-10, in a game that was tied at intermission.
The power-play was the difference, with Edmonton converting on four of five opportunities including three scores in the second half. Colorado capitalized once in five attempts.
Forward Adam Jones became just the third player in Mammoth history (Gary Gait and John Grant, Jr.) to score 50 or more goals in a season, notching numbers 50 and 51 on Saturday.
Calgary defeated Vancouver, 14-13, shortly after Colorado-Edmonton concluded. The Mammoth will take on the Roughnecks (again) in the West Division Semifinal pres. by Honey Smoked Fish Co. at Pepsi Center next Sat., May 9 at 7pm. Tickets are on sale now.
