Omaha Lancers Release 2011-2012 Regular Season Schedule

OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce their regular season schedule for the 2011-2012 season. Celebrating their 26th season of operation and final season of play at the Omaha Civic Auditorium, the Lancers begin the 60-game campaign on Friday, September 30th against the Waterloo Black Hawks at 7:05 PM at the Civic. Omaha's regular season finale then comes Saturday, April 14th at home against the Sioux City Musketeers.
Notable home games this season include a match-up with the defending Clark Cup champion Dubuque Fighting Saints (November 5), Military Appreciation Night/Veteran's Day Celebration (November 11) and four tilts with Omaha's arch rivals, the Lincoln Stars (January 7, January 21, February 10, March 31). Of the Lancers 30 home games this season, 29 will be played on weekend dates with 13 Fridays, 11 Saturdays and five Sundays currently scheduled on the 2011-2012 season calendar. Omaha's only mid-week game at home this season comes Tuesday, December 6 when the Lancers host the Tri-City Storm.
Despite not adding any new member teams, the USHL has applied some slight Conference realignment in preparation for the upcoming season. Waterloo has been shifted into the Western Conference while Dubuque has been moved into the Eastern Conference.

Omaha will play eight games each against Fargo, Lincoln, Sioux City, Sioux Falls and Tri-City while it will play six games against Des Moines and four against new Conference rival Waterloo. Meanwhile, the Lancers will play two games apiece (one home, one away) against Cedar Rapids and Dubuque. Finally, Omaha will host one home game each with Chicago, Indiana and Youngstown while the Lancers will travel for one road game apiece at Green Bay, Muskegon and the USNTDP.
