Ollie Bassett & Myer Bevan Win 2023 Canadian Premier League Golden Boot

With Saturday's conclusion of the 2023 Canadian Premier League regular season, Atlético Ottawa's Ollie Bassett and Cavalry FC's Myer Bevan officially captured this year's Golden Boot award as the league's joint-top goal scorers over the course of the campaign.

Bassett and Bevan both scored 11 goals this season en route to capturing the prize. Bevan caught Bassett on the final day of the season, scoring his 11th in Cavalry's season finale against Pacific FC in a 3-0 victory for the 2023 regular season winners.

Bassett and Bevan join an illustrious list of CPL Golden Boot winners, including last year's top scorer Alejandro Díaz, who scored 13 goals for Pacific FC in 2022. Prior winners include Forge FC's Tristan Borges (2019), and Halifax Wanderers' Akeem Garcia (2020) and João Morelli (2021).

The remainder of the league's 2023 award winners will be announced during the Canadian Premier League's awards ceremony, with a full list of nominees to be released over the coming weeks.
