
Oliver Drake Earns MiLBY as 2015 Reliever of the Year

Minor League Baseball today announced that Norfolk Tides RHP Oliver Drake has been awarded with a MiLBY as the Top Relief Pitcher for the 2015 season.
Drake, 28, appeared in 42 games with the Tides in 2015, going 1-2 with a 0.82 ERA. He was 23-for-23 in save opportunities with Norfolk, and he held opposing hitters to a .151 average while allowing just 23 hits and striking out 66 batters in 44.0 innings pitched. The U.S. Naval Academy product also made 13 relief appearances for the Baltimore Orioles, posting a 2.87 ERA while striking out 17 in 15.2 innings of work.
Drake was originally selected by Baltimore in the 43rd round of the 2008 draft. Along with his MiLBY Award, Drake was also named the Orioles co-Jim Palmer Minor League Pitcher of the Year (alongside RHP Mychal Givens) and as the Top Reliever on the International League's Postseason All-Star Team.
The MiLBY Awards are presented by MiLB.com and are given annually to the most outstanding players, teams, single-game performances and moments throughout each Minor League baseball season.
