Oklahoma Cavalry Training Camp Set To Begin November 2
November 1, 2007 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1)
Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry News Release
LAWTON, OKLA.-- The Oklahoma Cavalry professional CBA basketball team is gearing up for its inaugural season in Lawton with training camp slated to begin Nov. 2.
Training camp will run Nov. 2-8. Sixteen players have been invited to attend the camp with a chance to make the final 10-man roster.
Head Coach Michael Ray Richardson will put the players through extensive two-a-days and said he is excited and ready to start preparing for the season.
"I feel good about the players we have coming in. We have a lot of good, young talent," Coach Richardson said. "Most of these guys are looking to improve themselves and go to the next level. It's going to be hard work, but if they put that in they will receive the reward at the end. I want to be a part of that."
Coach Richardson also said he is ready to bring home the trophy this season after coming so close last year when he coached the Albany Patroons to the finals.
"I have a sour taste in my mouth after making it to the finals last year, but not winning," Coach Richardson said. "I'm hoping to win the championship this year here in Lawton."
Following is a list of the players attending the camp with their most recent basketball history. Fans will have the first opportunity to see them in action Saturday, Nov. 10 when they play the Ft. Sill Cannoneers in a pre-season exhibition game. The game will be played at Rinehart Gymnasium located on Ft. Sill with tip-off at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
The final Oklahoma Cavalry roster will be announced Monday, Nov. 12.
