Trenton Devils News Release
TRENTON, NJ (August 30, 2004) - The Trenton Titans announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Ryan O'Keefe for the 2004-05 season. Per club policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Ryan's a big, tough guy who brings size to our line-up," said Mike Havliand, Titans Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations. "He's a solid presence along our blueline and we're excited to have him back"
The 24-year old was acquired by the Titans last off-season from the Pensacola in a trade that sent Kam White and Tyler Beechey to the Ice Pilots. Despite suffering a broken foot in November, O'Keefe appeared in 46 games for Trenton, chipping in 4 assists and racking up 141 penalty minutes.
O'Keefe, a fourth-year pro, broke into the ECHL in 2001-02 with the Cincinnati Cyclones and also since played with the Jackson Bandits. Prior to his professional career he played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Barrie Colts and the Plymouth Whalers. O'Keefe becomes the twentieth player signed by Trenton for 2004-05.
