OKC Energy FC Signs Danni Köning

OKLAHOMA CITY - OKC Energy FC has announced the signing of forward Danni Köning, General Manager Jason Hawkins announced today. Köning joins Energy FC after playing in the Danish SuperLiga the last three seasons. His signing is pending receipt of his international transfer clearance.

"Danni is a big forward from Denmark," said Energy FC Head Coach Jimmy Nielsen. "He has played at a very high level with FC Vestsjaelland in the Danish SuperLiga. I am very happy to have him here to add some additional firepower to our front line. I expect Danni to accomplish his goals and do great things for the club."

Köning played for Vestsjaelland during the 2013-14 season and was loaned to Brönshöj BK during that same season. He made 50 appearances with Vestsjaelland, scoring eight goals and four assists. Prior to his arrival in Vestsjaelland, Köning played for Brönshöj BK during the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons. In 45 appearances with Brönshöj BK, Köning scored 17 goals.

Köning started his career with Brönshöj BK's during the 2009-10 season before playing for Randers FC. He then made the jump to Iceland's Úrvalsdeild league with Valur based out of Reykjavík during the 2010-11 season.

"I am very excited to join Energy FC and look forward to being part of the team," Köning said. "I will give everything I have and hopefully we will have a lot of success as a team this year. Jimmy Nielsen is one of the reasons that I chose Energy FC, and I 'm looking forward to be coached by him."
