Iowa Chops News Release
The Edmonton Oilers have announced a new affiliation agreement with the American Hockey League's Iowa Stars (Dallas Stars) for the 2005-06 season.
Oilers' Assistant General Manager Scott Howson says, "We are extremely pleased to be partnering with Dallas for the upcoming season. They are a first class organization with a strong commitment towards development in Iowa."
With the Edmonton Road Runners suspending operations for the 2005-06 season, the Oilers were prompted to move their AHL prospects. The Oilers are expecting to assign up to seven players to Iowa for the upcoming season.
With the addition of the Stars, the Oilers now have three minor league affiliations for the 2005-06 season, including the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs and the ECHL's Greenville Grrrowl.
