OHL Eastern Conference Championships Lead to a Mayoral Challenge off the Ice

MISSISSAUGA, April 21, 2011 - The City of Mississauga and the Mississauga Michael's Majors were chosen as hosts of the 2011 MasterCard Memorial Cup taking place May 20-29. A special challenge between Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion and St. Catharines' Mayor Brian McMullan will be issued at game three of the preceding OHL Eastern Conference Championships series at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga on Saturday April 24.

"I've asked that if the Mississauga St. Mike's Majors win this Eastern Conference series against the IceDogs, Mayor McMullan will wear a Majors' jersey at an upcoming St. Catharines' council meeting", said Mayor Hazel McCallion. "I'm going to make sure it's one of the pink jerseys."

When: Saturday, April 24, 2011 7 p.m.

Where: Hershey Centre
