Columbus, OH. - The Ohio Junior Blue Jackets scored the first two goals of the game but surrendered the next two before losing in a shootout 3-2 to the Waterloo Black Hawks at the Dispatch Ice Haus Friday night.
The Junior Jackets (2-2-2, 6 pts.) opened the scoring when forward Alexei Dostoinov put one past Waterloo (3-3-1, 7 pts.) goaltender Matthew DiGirolamo at 5:40 of the first period. Ohio forward Derek Roehl extended the lead to 2-0 midway through the second period.
The Black Hawks answered when forward Jordan Samuel-Thomas scored a power-play goal on Ohio goaltender Pasquale Terrazzano with 50 seconds remaining in the second period. Waterloo forward Brock Montpetit tied the game at 9:10 of the third to send the game into overtime.
After a scoreless extra session, the clubs faced off in a shootout.
