SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. - Another strong offensive showing by the Tennessee Smokies propelled them to a 7-4 win Saturday night over the Jacksonville Suns. Tyler Colvin, Marquez Smith and Ty Wright each had multiple hits in a 13-hit attack that inched the Smokies closer to first place in the Southern League North Division.

For the second night in a row the Smokies jumped out to the early lead. Welington Castillo drove in the first run of the game with a single to left to score Colvin to put the Smokies up 1-0. Starlin Castro's groundout brought home Smith to make it 2-0 Tennessee.

Tennessee would add to its lead in the fourth. After Tyler Colvin's led off the frame with a triple, a passed ball by Suns catcher Chris Hatcher brought home Colvin to make it 3-0 Smokies.

One inning later, the Smokies would blow the game wide open as they put four more runs on the board. Ty Wright's single brought home one run, with Blake Lalli following with a two-run single to make it 6-0 Smokies. Marquez Smith's double brought home Lalli to put the Smokies up 7-0.

Jacksonville would make a game of it in the sixth, answering Tennessee's four runs in the fifth with four of their own off starter Casey Coleman to cut the Smokies' lead to 7-4. The 12-game winner would end up winning his 13th Saturday night, but not before giving up the four runs to be chased from the game. He would walk four and strike out four.

Relievers Jake Muyco and Jayson Ruhlman would shut down the Suns over the final 3.2 innings. Ruhlman pitched the final 1.2 innings to get his fourth save of the year.

After Sunday's day off, the Smokies kick off another five-game homestand against the Chattanooga Lookouts. With both teams vying for a playoff spot, next week's series promises to be a very important one.
