SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The RailCats offense slugged out 14 runs on 16 hits to snap their seven-game losing skid in a 14-9 win over the Explorers on Independence Day.
The hit parade began in the first inning, as Mike Massaro and Mike Coles hit back-to-back doubles to give the RailCats a 1-0 lead. The Explorers scored a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the inning off of RailCats starter Kyle Wilson to take a 2-1 advantage.
The RailCats came right back in the second inning, scoring on a bases-loaded walk by Adam Klein and a sac fly by Massaro. The X's answered with three in the bottom of the inning to take a 5-3 lead.

Massaro and Coles had RBI hits in the seventh and a throwing error by catcher Ray Serrano brought home in a third run in the inning as they took an 11-6 lead. The Explorers scored three in the bottom of the inning to pull within two.
