Rochester RazorSharks News Release


Rochester rock music legend Lou Gramm headlines a busy afternoon off the court Saturday for the Rochester RazorSharks.

Gramm performs the National Anthem preceding the Rochester RazorSharks Premier Basketball League game with Kentucky. Gramm, of Black Sheep, Foreigner and The Lou Gramm Band fame, is promoting a local concert. He will perform with his original band Black Sheep, April 8 at the Main Street Armory.

Other guests of the RazorSharks include Rochester Red Wings season and suite ticket holders, along with Bryant and Stratton College representatives. Rochester will also salute its own season ticket holders and sponsors with a pre-game party at the Riverside Lounge.

Meanwhile, the team has announced it will make its players' housing complex available to the American Red Cross to aid in tsunami and earthquake relief efforts in Japan. The RazorSharks will donate the housing for use during the off season.

Next month brings the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster in Ukraine. The RazorSharks support the Children of Chernobyl Relief and Development Fund. More than 300 thousand people were relocated in the former Soviet Union.

The Children of Chernobyl relief effort is close to the RazorShark ownership group. The Hrywnak Brothers are 1st generation Ukrainians. Their parents lived in the Chernobyl region.

The Sharks tip off their final game of the regular PBL season against the Bluegrass Stallions Saturday at 1:05. Rochester clinched a playoff berth Tuesday with a win at Dayton.
