During the next seven days, the Maritime's only two professional basketball teams will go head-to-head as they vie for the Premier Basketball League's final playoff spot.

The Halifax Rainmen (8-9) and the Saint John Mill Rats (8-8) will face each other in two critical match-ups next week. The first game will take place at Harbour Station on Tuesday, March 29, and the final game will take place in Halifax on Thursday, March 31.

"Two wins against Saint John and we're in," said Halifax Rainmen President & CEO, Andre Levingston. "Although we would have preferred a smoother entry into playoffs, we are excited to face the Mill Rats in these final games. The maritime rivalry is exciting for everyone involved."

To advance to the playoffs, the Rainmen will need to win two of their next three games. In the event of the Maritime teams coming to a tie, the Mill Rats will need to beat the Rainmen by more than eight points to advance.

In addition to the Mill Rats upcoming games against the Rainmen, they will also face the second-place Quebec Kebs and the first-place Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry.

The Rainmen will face the seventh-place Dayton Air Strikers in the first of their last three games on Friday, March 25 at 7 pm.

Tickets for the March 25 home game can be purchased at any Ticket Atlantic location or at the Metro Centre Box Office.
