OF Drew Locke Promoted to Vero Beach

Columbus, GA - The last appearance by LF Drew Locke in a Columbus Catfish uniform was at the 47th South Atlantic League All-Star Game on Tuesday. Locke has been promoted to the Vero Beach Dodgers (Advanced-A) to begin the second half of the season. He earned a spot on the Southern Division All-Star squad after batting .325 with eight home runs, 16 doubles, 50 RBI and 49 runs in 62 games for Columbus.

The Catfish have added 3B Bridger Hunt to the roster. The Los Angeles Dodgers selected Hunt in the ninth round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft with the 263rd overall pick. During the 2006 campaign with Central Missouri State University Hunt batted .415 with nine home runs, 11 triples, 21 doubles, 74 RBI and 66 runs in 60 games.

Middle infielder Dominique Laurin has retired from professional baseball. Laurin played in just two games with the Catfish this season before he injured his right knee and went on the disabled list. After being selected in the 29th round of the 2002 First-Year Player Draft Laurin played in 176 games with the Dodgers organization.
