Odessa, TX: With "Hometown Heroes" Quinton Hunter and Jarred Robinson from Permian High School on board, the Odessa Roughnecks are please to announce the signing of Odessa High School fullback/linebacker Shawn Rodgers. The 6' 0", 230 lb. Broncho is the third player to join the team, all of who are first year, local athletes. The team plans on announcing two veteran players at 10:30 AM during the upcoming open-tryout on November 19th. The one-day workout will be a combine-style event requiring no pads. It will take place at Hood Junior High School on Saturday, November 19th beginning at 8:00 AM. Hopefuls are to arrive dressed in athletic clothing with sneakers and cleats.
The community will have an opportunity to become familiar with Shawn tomorrow morning as he interviews with Robert Hallmark on 550 KCRS AM in the 7:00 AM hour.
