OCSC Foundation and Anaheim Elementary School District Celebrate Youth Soccer Success

May 5, 2025 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Orange County SC News Release

Anaheim, CA - On Wednesday, April 30, Westmont Elementary School triumphed over Ponderosa Elementary School with a hard-fought 2-1 victory to claim the league title. Played in front of thousands of passionate spectators, the action-packed final was a true display of teamwork, determination, and school spirit. The match not only crowned a new champion, but also highlighted the powerful impact of youth sports in bringing communities together and inspiring the next generation of athletes.

The league is the result of a long-standing partnership between the Orange County Soccer Club Community Foundation (OCSCCF) and the Anaheim Elementary School District (AESD). For several years, this coed after-school soccer program has provided 4th, 5th, and 6th graders across 23 schools with the opportunity to engage in structured, competitive play. Through OCSCCF's support-offering trained coaches, certified referees, and full organizational infrastructure-the program ensures that high-quality soccer is accessible to all students in the district.

Following the championship match, both Westmont and Ponderosa players were invited to attend the Orange County SC vs. FC Tulsa professional match-an opportunity to experience the sport at the highest level and celebrate their own achievements alongside their peers.

The OCSC Foundation remains committed to expanding access to youth sports, promoting teamwork, physical activity, and personal growth for students throughout Orange County! For more information or to donate, please visit https://www.orangecountysoccer.com/donations/
