Orange County SC News Release
Orange County SC lost 4-1 to Tacoma Defiance on the road at Cheney Stadium on Saturday, October 9.
Interim head coach Richard Chaplow gave the start to goalkeeper Abraham Romero who had not played since the end of July. OCSC got out to an attacking start to begin the game putting the ball in areas that caused the Tacoma defense to scramble. Despite the crosses and positive form, OCSC were not successful in grabbing the lead.
With the rain drenching on the pitch, OCSC fell behind two goals in the first ten minutes of the second half. Tacoma forward Samuel Adeniran scored two of his eventual three goals in quick succession. OCSC got a goal back in the 60' as Ben Mines shot a bouncing ball through the Tacoma defense and past their goalkeeper. It was Mines's first goal in an OCSC kit. The next thirty minutes saw OCSC continue to push the ball forward like they did in the first half. However, Tacoma added two more goals in the 90' and 90+3' to put the game away, 4-1.
OCSC returns to Irvine on Wednesday, October 13 to play Phoenix Rising FC at 7 pm on Fiesta de Fútbol night.
