OCSC Announces New Youth Soccer Network as Part of Pathway to Pro in OC

November 4, 2020 - United Soccer League Championship (USL) - Orange County SC News Release

Orange County Soccer Club is a founding member of the USL and has been an established professional club with a senior team competing for nearly a decade in the USL Championship, the 2nd Division within the US Soccer pyramid. OCSC has been known for its history of signing talented young players to professional contracts and developing them alongside veteran players who have played in the top leagues around the world.

Last week, OCSC announced the formation of a new Academy team for the USL Academy Southwest Division, which will allow OCSC to bring in more young players into their system and develop them in a professional environment. With that announcement, OCSC also introduced the new OCSC Youth Soccer Network, which allows youth soccer organizations of all levels to form a partnership with their local pro club.

OCSC has historically chosen not to have its own separate youth club because they have always wanted to provide support to all youth soccer organizations in Orange County regardless of their level, while at the same time identifying the most talented 1% and helping them reach the highest level of soccer each player is capable of achieving. In keeping with that decision, OCSC is now forming the new OCSC Youth Soccer Network to provide a clear pathway from recreational soccer to professional soccer. The OCSC Youth Soccer Network is open to ALL youth soccer organizations and to players of all levels; it has created three levels of membership that will encompass all types of OC soccer players and fans.

As a starting point, an organization can become a standard Partner to introduce OCSC to its members and families and create fun experiences for players through clinics, discounted game tickets and merchandise, and other great benefits. OCSC will also offer a Preferred Partner Level for clubs that want to focus more on player advancement and coaching development, and perhaps begin to align themselves with their pro club's style of play and organizational values. Finally, OCSC will start to accept Affiliate Partners for clubs who want to take on a full affiliation with OCSC and integrate curriculums, club branding, and be an official partner with both Orange County SC and Glasgow Rangers FC.

OCSC understands that each youth soccer organization has unique needs, and each partnership will look slightly different as the clubs begin to work together and evolve the partnership throughout the year(s). In the short term, OCSC will offer two distinct types of soccer camps with special benefits to its new partners:

- OCSC Thanksgiving Youth Camp

- Fun for all ages and skill levels, this camp is open to everyone in the community and will provide three days of fun for a price of $165

- For new members of the Youth Soccer Network, your club will be offered 2 spots in the camp for FREE, and all other spots for players in your club will have a special price of $140

- OCSC Elite Talent ID Camp (dates TBD, early 2021)

- Open only to players ages 14-19 who strive to play professionally

- Exact details and pricing TBD, but there will be limited availability based on age and positions

- For new members of the Youth Soccer Network, club directors will be able to send 2 top players to earn a guaranteed spot in the camp for no cost

- Rangers FC Academy coaches for both the men's and women's teams will be present

For complete details on these opportunities with the Youth Soccer Network, contact the club's VP of Sales, Ray Ferrari, [email protected] to start the conversation with how OCSC can best support your organization.
