OC Blues FC Signs Evan Mundine

AUSTIN, Texas (August 22, 2015) - Orange County Blues FC has made another major acquisition, signing 17-year-old midfielder Evan Mundine.
A Blues fan since the establishment of the club in 2011, Evan has watched every Blues match online from his home in Bastrop, Texas, while battling severe Crohn's disease. Saturday's match versus Austin Aztex at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex will be the first Blues match that Evan will be part of as the newest member of the Blues family.
"We are honored to add Evan to our roster as his life story and love for the OC Blues is a true inspiration to the entire organization. His determination, spirit and positive attitude to overcome his daily struggles provide us with a remarkable role model," said Head Coach Oliver Wyss.
After each match, win or lose, Evan tweets messages of support to the Blues coaching staff & players using his Twitter handle, @bilzy, "I'm proud of you." At the beginning of the season, Evan sent the team a package, which contained a key for each player and coach, inscribed with the word "BELIEVE."
Evan signed his contract in front of all his new Blues teammates, who are excited to welcome him to the team. Evan will be part of Saturday's match versus Austin and will be proudly wearing his #15 jersey.
"I'm thrilled to be a part of the OC Blues, not only as a fan, but now as a player. I would like to thank everyone in the Blues organization who helped make my dream come true," said Evan.
OC Blues FC faces Austin Aztex Saturday night at 5:30 p.m. PT at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex in Austin, Texas.
