Oakland Roots are set to face LA Galaxy II for the third of four contests this season. In the previous two meetings, the teams traded wins, which should lead to an exciting match on Saturday. With Roots only victory of the season coming against LA, Oakland hopes this match will get them back on track.

Roots most recently drew Sacramento Republic in a Wednesday night showdown. Despite controlling possession and having the better of chances, Roots was unable to come away with the win. However, Oakland was able to secure another clean sheet, which was the first of goalkeeper Paul Blanchette's career with Roots.

LA Galaxy II enters the match looking for three points to put them into fourth place in the pacific division standings. With the team in strong playoff contention, LA is looking to pick up points on Saturday. In their most recent match, Galaxy II beat Orange County SC in a high scoring affair that saw Daniel Aguirre net the game winner in the final minutes of the match.
