Louisville City FC Stops FC Tulsa Rally Short

FC Tulsa News Release
LOUISVILLE - Ultimately, it was too little, too late.
A stoppage time goal from captain Bradley Bourgeois, his first as a member of FC Tulsa, wasn't enough as the visitors fell 2-1 to Louisville City FC on Saturday night at Lynn Family Stadium. The loss is the fifth in six matches for FC Tulsa and drops the club to fourth place in the Central Division standings.
It was Louisville who came out of the gate as the aggressor, and while FC Tulsa keeper Sean Lewis did his part, but an unlucky deflection gave the hosts the lead. Lewis looked in position to make a routine save on a Cameron Lancaster shot, but in an effort to kick the ball out of play, defender Jorge Corrales accidentally kicked the ball into his own net to give Louisville the 1-0 lead in the 10' minute.
FC Tulsa had chances on either end of halftime to find an equalizer as Jason Johnson had a chance saved by Louisville before the break and Rodrigo da Costa had a breakaway shot saved early in the second half.
Despite solid team defending from Tulsa through the second half, Louisville capitalized on numerous set piece opportunities to finally break through for a second. It was Lancaster again as the Englishman pounced on the loose ball inside the six-yard box for his brace.
The result was academic from there as Louisville showed why it's the class of the Central Division, seeing out the 2-0 result.
Attached are Finals Stats and Postmatch Quotes from head coach Michael Nsien, defender Bradley Bourgeois and keeper Sean Lewis.
GOALS
10' LOU - Cameron Lancaster (Niall McCabe)
66' LOU - Cameron Lancaster
90'+2 TUL - Bradley Bourgeois (Lebo Moloto)
OH CAPTAIN, OUR CAPTAIN
FC Tulsa captain Bradley Bourgeois scored the lone goal for FC Tulsa in the loss, his first in a FC Tulsa uniform. In the six season USL Championship career from Bourgeois, it was just the fifth goal in all competitions, three coming as a member of Nashville SC in 2018-2019. The goal makes it two straight matches that a defender has scored for Tulsa after Matt Sheldon scored last weekend - the first goal scored by a defender in 2021.
LONG TIME TEAMMATES LINK UP
It was Bourgeois's former Nashville SC teammate Lebo Moloto who set him up on the tally as Moloto found his way onto the scoresheet for the first time in 2021. The free kick assist is the fourth in the Tulsa career for the South African and first since the 2020 playoff defeat to El Paso Locomotive FC.
MO MILESTONE
Defender Mo Jadama became the fourth FC Tulsa player to hit 100 career USL Championship regular season appearances in 2021, joining Joaquín Rivas, Eric Bird and Bourgeois. Jadama accrued his appearances with Portland Timbers 2, Atlanta United 2 and FC Tulsa.
