
Oakland Roots and Soul SC Announce Closing Date for Community Investment Round

Oakland Roots and Soul SC have run the most successful equity crowdfunding campaign in American sports. The campaign reached the initial goal of 2 million dollars in a week's time and will close officially on Tuesday, October 31st, 2023. Since the launch of the campaign on September 13th, more than 2.4 million dollars have been invested into the club from more than 4,000 new owners from around the world.
"Time and time again, our family proves that they are some of the best in the world," said Roots and Soul Cofounder Edreece Arghandiwal. "In just one week, our new owners have broken a record for one of the most successful Community Rounds in sports history. Oakland is just different, and it's so encouraging to see so many throughout the world subscribe to the Oakland mentality. It's humbling to see the love and support pouring in from all over. This signifies the beginning of another amazing chapter for the club."
The Community Investment Round has seen the likes of rock star and Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, NFL player Josh Johnson, and Olympic and WNBA champion Ruthie Bolton join the ownership group, as well as former Oakland Mayors Libby Schaaf and Jean Quan.
The Community Investment Round saw over 1,205 Oakland residents investing, with new investors coming in from over 21 countries around the world.
