
Oakland and Sacramento Played to Thrilling 3-3 Draw

The match was a back and forth battle between the two Northern California rivals. The hosts from Sacramento took the lead in the 11th minute through Rodrigo Lopez to make the game 1-0. Oakland answered back through a wonder goal, bicycle kick from Juan Azocar in the 27th minte as the game went to 1-1. Sacramento would head into the half with an advantage as Mallique Foster scored on the counter to restore the home side's advantage and make the score 2-1.
The second half got off to a flying start as Roots leading goal scorer Óttar Magnús Karlsson snuck in his header at the far post to level the match in the 55th minute at 2-2. The man from Iceland would give Oakland the lead through a second header in the 70th minute giving him 13 on the season and Roots the 3-2 lead. Paul Blanchette was called on a number of times for Oakland late to maintain Oakland Roots advantage. Sacramento however would level it late in the game as the game ended 3-3.
Oakland now return home to Laney for a three game home stand starting with El Paso Locomotive FC on July 16th with kick off set for 7:00 PM.
