NY/NJ Comets News Release
Bridgewater, NJ - April 29, 2013 - Owner/GM, Michael Neuwirth announced today that the Comets have signed free agent and former University of Rutgers star Brittney Lindley for the 2013 season.
"Brittney attended our tryouts and impressed me with her versatility in the field, strong bat and good speed," stated Neuwirth. "She can play outfield and infield and is a threat to steal bases. I believe that Brittney is the final piece to an impressive Comet's roster."
Lindley had a reputation at Rutgers for being the ultimate competitor and a tough out. Her career numbers at Rutgers include a .342 batting average with 34 home runs, 134 RBIs and a .606 slugging percentage. She also stole 40 bases in 48 attempts.
"I was thrilled when I found out the NPF was bringing a team to the Northeast! "stated Lindley. "From my experience playing in New York and New Jersey, I know the Comets will inspire many young players and have a great impact on the community. I am excited to be a part of the NY/NJ Comets organization and look forward to making an impact on and off the field."
