NY/NJ Comets Announce Assistant Coach

Bridgewater, NJ - April 15, 2013 - Owner/GM, Michael Neuwirth announced today that Diana Consolmagno has joined the Comets as assistant coach under head coach Jay Nelson.

"Diana is an accomplished collegiate softball player and coach. She brings energy, leadership and a passion for the sport that is contagious," stated Neuwirth. "I am confident that Diana will continue to inspire players and fans alike at the professional level."

Consolmagno is in her third season as head coach of the University of Hartford softball program. Prior to Hartford, Consolmagno served four years as assistant coach at Rutgers University under Coach Nelson. Prior to Rutgers, Consolmagno was a hitting, outfield and strength and conditioning graduate assistant coach at the College of Staten Island.

Consolmagno played collegiate softball at the University of Wisconsin where she was named a four-year captain.

"I feel honored and privileged to be a part of the Comets organization." Consolmagno stated. "I am very excited for this upcoming season and to be coaching alongside Jay Nelson once again."
