NY/NJ Comets Announce Open Tryouts

Bridgewater, NJ - March 22, 2013 - Owner/GM, Michael Neuwirth announced today that the Comets will have the first of two open tryout dates on Monday, April 15 at Diamond Nation in Flemington, New Jersey, beginning at 6pm.
Tryouts are open to all females ages 21 and over that have used up their college playing eligibility.
"This is a great opportunity to round out our roster and create a pool of unrostered players," stated Neuwirth. "There are many elite athletes that have yet to be discovered and some that are interested in returning to the NPF. As a fan of the sport, I can't wait to watch the talent level of these athletes and hopefully strengthen the Comets in the process."
The Comets hope to sign at least one player to the roster. An unrostered player may be signed to a contract for a game(s) to replace an injured or unavailable rostered player.
Participants are required to bring their own equipment and will be judged on all facets of the game including hitting, fielding, base running and position-specific drills.
A second tryout date will be announced when available. The second tryout date is intended for graduating college seniors and post college athletes who were unable to attend the first tryout date.
All fans are encouraged to come out and watch and cheer for the potential Comets players. Admission is free and this is a great opportunity to experience a professional tryout.
