NY Giants Sign Two Hartford Colonials Players

EAST HARTFORD, CT - Linebacker Kenny Ingram and defensive back Ben Hannula, two players who spent the 2010 United Football League season with the Hartford Colonials, were signed to the New York Giants practice squad.
A total of 11 players from the 2010 Colonials have signed with NFL teams, either on the active roster or practice squad, since the UFL regular season ended Nov. 20.
Ingram had 22 tackles, two passes defended and one forced fumble in his first season with the Colonials. It is his third stint with the Giants, who originally signed Ingram as an undrafted free agent out of Florida State following the 2009 NFL Draft. He played in all four preseason games that year before being waived in September. The Giants signed him to the practice squad last December and remained with the team until he was released in late July.
Hannula had 16 tackles and two passes defended as a safety with the Colonials and played on special teams. Known for his versatility, Hannula attended Giants mini-camp last April as a cornerback. He also was a participant at Seahawks mini-camp as a wide receiver in 2009.
