What Is the NWHL? The National Women's Hockey League is the first professional league to pay women to play hockey. The 2015-16 season marks the inaugural campaign for this four team organization and has been extensively covered worldwide.
This game features several Olympic-level players including Team USA captain Meghan Duggan, Megan Bozek and Japanese sensation Nana Fujimoto.
Game Details: The Riveters won the last meeting between these two clubs on December 27, a game in which Meghan Fardelmann notched the first hat trick in club history. Nana Fujimoto is ranked third among NWHL goaltenders in wins with three. She also carries a .909 save percentage.
The Beauts have fond memories of the Aviator Sports & Events Center, having won their first game in franchise history there on November 29. Kelley Steadman is among the league leaders in points (13), goals (9), and stars (4). Buffalo is captained by Emily Pfalzer, who will lead one of the two NWHL All-Star teams during the inaugural NWHL All-Star Game on January 24.
