Founded in 2014, The Ed Walsh Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) charitable non-profit dedicated to helping families in the greater Boston area. The mission of the foundation is to keep Ed's spirit alive by giving back to the community where he lived and worked.

What Is the NWHL? The National Women's Hockey League is the first professional league to pay women to play hockey. The 2015-16 season marks the inaugural campaign for this four team organization and has been extensively covered worldwide.

This game features several Olympic-level players including Team USA stars Hilary Knight, Kacey Bellamy, Gigi Marvin, Kelli Stack and Brianna Decker.

Game Details:

Boston handed the Whale their only loss of the season on December 27th, a game in which top players Hilary Knight, Brianna Decker and Gigi Marvin did not appear. In the three games that have followed, the Whale have scored 15 goals, including six in a 6-1 victory over the New York Riveters on January 3.

The Pride enter play off of their best performance of the season, scoring an NWHL record eight goals in an 8-1 win over New York. Knight leads all NWHL players with 20 points and 10 goals. Connecticut's Kaleigh Fratkin holds the league lead in assists with 12. Brittany Ott leads NWHL goaltenders with seven wins and a 2.04 GAA.
