
NSC Minnesota Stars Sign Two New Players

BLAINE, Minn. (May 24, 2010) - The NSC Minnesota Stars have added two more midfielders to their roster. The Stars now have 26 signed players.
Geison Moura, a 23-year-old Brazilian midfielder, made his debut for the Stars Saturday in a 1-0 loss to Miami FC. Moura started the game and played 64 minutes before he was replaced.
Moura was born in Sao Caetano, Sao Paulo, Brazil. He moved to northeastern Brazil to sign his first professional contract with Esporte Clube Bahia, then of the Brazilian second division. In 2005, he returned to the Sao Paulo state to join Portuguesa Santista of the third division. Moura moved to the United States in 2007 to join the New Jersey Ironmen of the Major Indoor Soccer League. He played nine games for the Ironmen, scoring two goals, before joining the Rockford Rampage for the 2008-2009 season. Moura began training with the Stars in April.
The Stars have also signed 24-year-old Lucas Rodriguez, pending league approval. Rodriguez was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and grew up idolizing Diego Maradona. He attended Mid America Nazarene University in Olathe, Kan., where he was named to National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics all-American teams all four years. He also played for the KC Brass of the Premier Development League between college seasons. Rodriguez joined the Stars during their season-opening training camp.
