May 24, 2010 - U.S. Soccer Federation D-2 (USSF D-2)
Austin Aztex News Release
On Wednesday in Miami, the Austin Aztex take on the Miami FC Blues for the first time this season. This is the Aztex first match since drawing with the Tampa Bay Rowdies, 3-3, last Wednesday.
The match kicks-off at 6:30 p.m. (CST) at Lockhart Stadium in Miami, Fla. Lockhart Stadium is recognized as the oldest soccer specific stadium in North America and still stands after 51 years of existence.
Miami FC is coming off of their first win of the season. The Blues won 1-0 against NSC Minnesota this past Saturday and currently hold a record of 1-0-5.
Meanwhile, the Aztex are coming off one of their most physical games of the year and are seeking to extend their unbeaten streak to six games. The Aztex boast the best record in the league thus far and are looking to add to their 14 point total in the league standings.
This game pairs the prolific offense of the Aztex versus the stout defense of Miami FC.
The Blues field the third best defense in the league, having only given up four goals on the season. However, their offense has managed to score only five goals this season, 10th best in the league and ahead of only Montreal and St. Louis in total goals scored.
Offense is something the Aztex have plenty of, averaging two goals a game. The attack is led by forward Eddie Johnson, who leads the Aztex with five goals this season.
Wednesday's 6:30 p.m. match can be seen live on www.austinaztex.com or on www.miamifc.com.
