Nothing Deflating About Being Naked: Saints 2011 Promotion Schedule Full of Laughs

St. Paul Saints News Release

ST. PAUL, MN (April 7, 2011) - In coming up with a summer full of laugh-out-loud promotions, the St. Paul Saints have consistently proven that there's nothing wrong with being full of hot air. In 2011, that bubble may not burst, but it could deflate.

Many in Minnesota probably remember where they were 30 years ago during "Inflation Day" when the dome went up at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. The Saints will, consequently, celebrate "Deflation Day" at the ballpark on Saturday, May 14 as the first 2,501 fans in attendance will receive a Metrodome Whoopee Cushion.

Edgy has always been the name of the game with the Saints and that will be even more evident on Saturday, May 21 during The Naked Game: Enrico Pallazo Night. One of the classic scenes in movie history is Leslie Nielsen singing the National Anthem at a baseball game as Enrico Pallazo. He follows that up by getting behind the plate to call balls and strikes. Nielsen's passing in November prompted an ode to his Naked Gun trilogy. Saints players will be clad in "naked" uniforms showcasing their bare chests for all to see.

On August 24, the Saints will get caught up in the Apple madness with iLove Apple as 1,501 fans will walk home with an apple products giveaway. On the heels of last season's popularity Welcome to Zombieland will take place on July 7 as fans should come dressed in their best zombie costume. Fitness is the name of the day on July 11 with Jack Lalanne's Largest Workout Day.

The Saints are bringing back fan favorites like Military Appreciation Day presented by Cub Foods and AUSA, which takes place on Opening Day, May 12. A team can't play in an Irish town and not do a St. Patty's Day promotion. The O'Saints will enjoy St. Patty's Day in July presented by Ryan Companies on Tuesday, July 12. It could be a rough day at the ballpark as the Saints go back in time with "Life Before Toilet Paper" on Monday, July 25. The Saints will hold a toilet paper drive during the game with donations going to Second Harvest Heartland. Another returning favorite is Winter in the Summer presented by Welch Village Ski and Snowboard resort featuring snow activities as fans enter the ballpark on Saturday, August 20.

On Saturday, August 6 the Winnipeg Goldeyes will be in town which makes it a perfect time to honor two teams no longer in existence with "Saints Side Story: Jets and North Stars." Did you know the first home run champion was a Jewish Baseball Player' Learn that and more as the Saints pay tribute to Hank Greenberg (who would have turned 100 in 2011) and other Jewish athletes on Sunday, June 12. Minnesotans love their cheese curds, which were created by UW Scientists attempting to create an object of pure cholesterol that would still squeak, and the Saints are here to accommodate with "Cheese Curd Night" presented by Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery on Saturday, June 11. Lonnie Dupre, a Minnesotan who attempted the first solo climb on Mt. McKinley, will be honored on Minnesota Explorers Night on Saturday, July 23.

Bring the kids out to the ballpark or call in sick to work during the three weekday afternoon games. On Wednesday, June 29 (1:05 p.m.), Wednesday, July 13 (1:05 p.m.) and Tuesday, August 9 (12:05 p.m.) fans will have a chance to catch some rays as they kick back and relax at the ballpark.

The Saints are adding something new and exciting this season with Friday Night Fireworks presented by Xcel Energy. A returning family favorite, S&W Beans and Butter Kernel Family Sundays means kids run the bases and get autographs from the entire team following every Sunday home game.

Saints tickets continue to be a tremendous value. Tickets are $5 for general admission, $8 for outfield reserved and $12 for infield reserved. Friday Home Games with post-game fireworks (except July 1, August 26) are an additional $2 per ticket. July 1 and August 26 feature extended post-game fireworks and are an additional $3 per ticket. Tickets purchased on the Day of the Game are an additional $1 per ticket. Children under the age of 12 and seniors 65 and older receive $1 off the admission price. Children under 2 that don't require a seat are free.

The regular season begins Thursday, May 12 and tickets for all Saints exhibition and regular season home games are available now in person at the Saints Box Office, by phone at 651-644-6659 or online at saintsbaseball.com.
