Nothing But Net

October 4, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Philadelphia, PA. "Nothing But Net" and "Nothing But Drills" comprise a powerful new instructional video series from legendary basketball coach, Herb Magee. Together, "Net" and "Drills" will give players of every age the skills they need to become better basketball players and score more points. Kay Magee, the coach's daughter, will be co-owner of an ABA expansion team next season.

"Nothing But Net" is a comprehensive look at the art of shooting. By breaking the basketball shot into its basic elements, Coach Magee vividly demonstrates how hands, arms and legs work together to make the perfect shot. "Nothing But Net" is filled with countless tips that can only come from a coach with more than 50 years of playing and coaching experience. Topics covered in "Net" including shooting hand, the guide hand, proper use of the arms, and getting proper from the legs. After each topic, "Magee's Keys" help to clarify each tip and provide new and helpful information.

"Nothing But Drills" was developed as a powerful supplement to "Net" giving every player easy-to-follow and valuable drills they can use to "practice with a purpose." Most of Coach Magee's drills are designed to simulate real-game experiences, and all of them can be practiced at home or in the gym. Coach Magee's most popular drills include the 33 Point Drill, Seven Spot Shooting, the X-Drill and the Lay-up Drill.

Coach Magee is one of the nation's most successful college coaches and is regarded by many as the top shooting instructor in the country. He is entering his 40th year as Head Coach at Philadelphia University and he is the 8th "winningest" coach of all time. Coach Magee has worked with players from the Nets, Sixers, Celtics and many more. NBA Al-Star Charles Barkley says that "Herb Magee is synonymous with basketball." And Malix Rose claims that Coach Magee's coaching "allowed him to play in the NBA, plain and simple."

Coach Magee says, "And you can be sure I'll be on the sidelines helping Kay and her players with her next ABA team next season." To learn more about Coach Magee and to order DVD's, go to www.herbmagee.com or www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
