September 8, 2010 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
North Texas Fresh News Release

Fort Worth - Dallas -- The ABA's North Texas Fresh has scheduled a news conference for Tuesday, September 29, 2010 at the Brookside Center in Hurst, TX, where the Fresh are expected to announce the signing of new professional athletes, season ending accolades, inquired news about Ex-NBA Player Isaiah "J.R." Rider and Miss USA's Shannon Marketic, along with news for the upcoming season.

Leader of the Pack

Jay Bowdy has had a load to carry. He came in as the youngest team owner in the history of the ABA (25 yrs old) and leading the Fresh to the 2nd best record in the Southwest Division obviously gave the ABA Committee reason to vote him as an ALL-ABA member this season.

Year

Pts -- Reb --Ast

2009-10

18.1 --13.2 --7.1

North Texas Fresh General Manager Timothy Anwar will discuss the different subjects of the news conference, as the Fresh will combine their Award ceremony with other news.

The release of Ex- NBA Star Isaiah Rider was reported last season when the 38 year old athlete failed to make anymore appearances. Fresh Owner Jay Bowdy refused to comment on the situation on why Rider's season with the Fresh was cut short, until on the 29th at this press conference.

"I received many phone calls and emails in regards to Rider and what was transpiring, but at that moment in time, the Fresh being successful was what mattered, especially seeing how hard our guys worked to be in the position to win ball games," Bowdy stated. "My mind was and still is on winning the ABA Championship and how it is extremely special because that means I'm doing a great job. I'm making my players better, putting them in a position to win and hopefully given players a shot to be professionals in the NBA or overseas."

Bowdy, who came back as a player mid last season, finished the year as one of the league's highest scorers, also finishing as the Fresh leading scorer. Bowdy was also a training camp player for the NBA's Austin Torros D-League franchise prior to taking ownership of the ABA's North Texas Fresh. He is expected to be a runner for MVP Honor's this season.
