North Shore Spirit to Hold Open Tryouts in April

LYNN, Mass. -- The North Shore Spirit will conduct an open tryout on Thursday, April 22 at Fraser Field in Lynn. The tryout will be a staggered format beginning at 1:30 p.m. for pitchers and catchers and position players follow at 3:30 p.m.

The tryout is open to experienced baseball players 19 years of age and older, and each player can choose only one position to tryout for.

Players must register with the North Shore Spirit in order to tryout. Registration is required and no exceptions will be made for late entries. Email Nicki Reilly at nicki@northshorespirit.com or call 781-592-0007 to register. A name, address, phone number, position and previous baseball experience is needed to register.

In 2003, two players were acquired from the tryouts to make the North Shore Spirit roster.

The Spirit coaching staff includes three former Red Sox players and two local coaches: Manager John Kennedy, and coaches Dick Radatz, Rich Gedman, Jim Tgettis and Frank Carey. Each coach will be on-hand for the tryouts.
