Nordiques Win Game Three to Sweep Black Bears

It was a win or go home situation for the Maryland Black Bears, as they trailed 2-0 in its best-of-five second round series with the Maine Nordiques. And after a hard fought 60 minutes, the Nordiques held on for a 4-1 win and advance to the Robertson Cup Semi-Final.

Maine struck first with a goal from defenseman Andrew Noel to make it 1-0 in the first period. Maryland responded with a goal from forward Hunter McCoy to tie the game 1-1 with a shot from the far circle. In the second period, Nordiques defenseman Mathew Connor scored off a point shot to make it 2-1. Maine got two goals in the third period from forwards Jack Strauss and Caden Pattison to make the final score 4-1. The Nordiques win the series 3-0 and will head to Blaine, Minnesota for the Robertson Cup Semi-Final with its opponent TBD. As for Maryland, its historic season comes to an end.

The Maryland Black Bears will begin its offseason and has its eyes on the 2021-2022 North American Hockey League season. Thank you everyone for following along this season and we hope to see you at Piney Orchard Ice Arena next season!
