St. Joseph Blacksnakes News Release
St. Joseph, MO-Talent came from both near and far for a shot at making a professional baseball team. However, Field Manager Chris Carminucci and his staff decided not to sign anyone.
Some players were local, many came from Kansas City, and a couple more even flew in from Texas. 24 players in total tried out.
"We had a lot of really great kids come out, excited for the opportunity. There just wasn't a player there near the standards of AA professional baseball," said Carminucci.
Carminucci continued, "There were three possible lower level prospects that may be able to play rookie ball with another league."
Now Carminucci can continue with Spring Training knowing exactly the players to choose his Opening Day roster from.
Individual game tickets are now on sale for the 2006 Blacksnakes season. Fans can purchase tickets at www.stjoeblacksnakes.com or by calling the office at (816) 279-6777.
