Plymouth Whalers News Release
WINDSOR - The 2009 Subway Ontario Hockey League All-Star Classic - held Tuesday and Wednesday at the Windsor Family Credit Union Centre - was a success in many ways. On the ice, the Western Conference and Eastern Conference split the two-day affair. The West won Tuesday's Skills Competition and the East won the all-star game last night, 11-6.
The Eastern Conference never trailed in the game and pulled away from a 3-3 tie after twenty minutes, leading 6-4 after two periods of play.
OHL CUP-BOUND COMPUWARE U-16's ROLL ON
On the surface, a recent Midget Minor game played between Compuware and Little Caesars didn't seem to matter much. But a closer look around the small crowd at the Compuware Arena watching the game told a slightly different story.
With Ontario Hockey League scouts from Kitchener, Plymouth, London and Central Scouting watching, the Compuware Under-16's scored two goals late in the third period to earn a 4-4 tie in a Midwest Elite Tier I Hockey League game played January 31 at Compuware Arena.
Compuware came all the way back from a 4-0 deficit in the second period to earn the single point.

GET INVOLVED WITH WHALERS' GO RED FOR WOMEN on FRIDAY On Friday, Plymouth brings in the Owen Sound Attack (20-19-6-5) at 7:05pm.

The Whalers are teaming up with the American Heart Association to show that "Hockey has Heart" and try to wipe out heart disease in women. The game is sponsored by Greektown Casino-Hotel, Hines Park Lincoln Mercury, and Meijer.
On Saturday - between Noon and 2pm - several Whalers will be working as waiters at Leo's Coney Island in Plymouth, on Ann Arbor Road just west of Haggerty.
On Saturday night, Plymouth hosts the top team in the Eastern Conference, the Belleville Bulls (34-14-2-2). The game is part of the Whalers' Youth Hockey Weekend. Youth teams are encouraged to come to the game and see the future stars of the NHL. Youth teams of all kinds will get a discount if they can bring their respective teams to the game.
