Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
San Bernardino, CA - A sell-out Fourth-of-July crowd at San Manuel Stadium watched a good game on Monday night, as the 66ers got a late run and then held on for a 4-3 win over the Quakes in the opening game of a six-game series.
After tying the game at 3-3 in the eighth, Rancho gave up the lead in the bottom of the inning, as Inland scored the go-ahead run on an Alexander Ramirez RBI double off Christian Suarez (2-4), taking the lead for good at 4-3.
The Rancho offense had chances in the ninth against eventual winner Blake Seigler (4-0), but left the tying run in scoring position.
Jake Vogel had an RBI double and Damon Keith drove in his team-leading 54th run of the year, with a game-tying sac fly in the eighth.
Rancho and Inland will take a day off on Tuesday, then resume the series at 7:05pm on Wednesday, as Maddux Bruns (0-1) takes on Connor Van Scoyoc (4-4) in game two of the series.
The Quakes will be on the road for the week, before returning home to LoanMart Field on Tuesday, July 12th, when they host the Fresno Grizzlies in a special 11:00am Summer Camp Day. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com. We hope to see you at LoanMart Field...Go Quakes!
