No game Tuesday in Wichita
May 30, 2006 - Texas League (TL1) News Release
(WICHITA, Kan.) - Heavy rain fell from about 3:30 until 4:45 Tuesday afternoon in downtown Wichita, forcing a postponement of Tuesday night's game between the Hooks and the Wichita Wranglers. The rain left most of the outfield and warning track under water.
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday, beginning at 5:00 pm. Matt Albers (5-1, 2.13) and Mitch Talbot (1-3, 4.34) will be the starters for the Hooks, while the Wranglers are expected to go with lefty Juan Cedeno (0-5, 5.04) and Brian Bass (2-0, 2.57).
The Tuesday afternoon downpour soaked an already wet Lawrence-Dumont Stadium playing surface. Just minutes following Monday's 5-0 Hooks' victory over the Wranglers a violent thunderstorm ripped through downtown Wichita, dumping heavy rain on the field for about 30 minutes.
The second game of Wednesday's twin bill and Thursday's series finale will be televised by the Royals Sports Television Network and Fox Sports Midwest.
