DURHAM, N.C. â Winnipeg took home the Daktronics Northern League Central Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week awards Monday for the seven-day period ending June 16.
Goldeyes infielder Pete Rose, Jr., the son of the all-time hit king, went 10-for-24 (.417) with seven runs, two doubles, two homers and nine RBIs in six games. He slugged .750 and recorded a .429 on-base percentage.

Rayborn, a right-hander from Mississippi, shut out Schaumburg on June 12 to earn the Central pitching award. He limited the Flyers to eight hits and three walks while striking out five for the complete game win.

Quebec 2B Pat Scalabrini went 12-for-24 (.500) with six runs, five doubles and five RBIs for the Daktronics Northern League East Player of the Week honor. Scalabrini slugged .708 and had a .586 on-base percentage to go with three stolen bases in seven games.

Allentown starter Chet Medlock, who started 2002 at Single-A Potomac of the Carolina League, went 2-0 last week without giving up a run in two starts covering 13 innings. He limited Brockton to three hits in six innings Tuesday and Albany-Colonie to five hits in seven innings Sunday.
