New Jersey Jackals News Release


The Jackals have scored a spot in the 2010 Can-Am League Playoffs! The action begins in Quebec on Wednesday night at 7:05pm. Thursday night, Game 2 in the best-of-5 series, will also be in Quebec at 7:05pm. The Jackals will then return to Yogi Berra Stadium for the final games of the series. Game 3 is set for Friday night and will begin at 7:05pm. Saturday, if necessary, will begin at 7:05pm and Sunday, if necessary, will begin at 5:05pm.

A Jackals' audio broadcast will not be available for the pair of games in Quebec, but fans can follow the playoff action live at www.canamleague.com.

Road to the Playoffs

The Jackals won 6 of the last 8 games they played against the Quebec Capitales to secure a spot in the 2010 playoffs. With their win on Labor Day, September 6th, the Jackals ended the regular season with a .5 game lead over the Worcester Tornadoes. The numbers are looking in the Jackals favor as the playoff series begins on Wednesday night against Quebec. Game 1 Starting Pitcher: AJ Wideman

With a 4-5 record and an ERA of 4.88, AJ Wideman has his third start since returning from an injury. His last outing yielded only one run on five hits in 5.2 innings against the Quebec Capitales. AJ was a two-time Can-Am League Pitcher of the Month in 2009.
