Nighthawks Visit Indian Hills Elementary

OMAHA, NE - Thursday, October 14, 2010 - The Omaha Nighthawks have a rare afternoon off away from the football field today and some members of the team have chosen to spend their free afternoon as students at Indian Hills Elementary School (3121 U Street, Omaha, Nebraska) from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.

"The Omaha community has embraced our team, so I am glad to see our guys getting out in the community on their afternoon off," said head coach JEFF JAGODZINSKI. "We have an obligation to invest in the community that has supported us during our inaugural season."

Quarterback JEFF GARCIA, Defensive Back CALVIN LOWRY, Wide Receiver ANDREW BREWER along with the Specialists- Long Snapper MATT OVERTON, Kicker JEFF WOLFERT and league-leading Punter JUSTIN BRANTLY are among the Nighthawks expected to be in attendance at Indian Hills Elementary School.

Players will be assigned to a classroom and will take part in whatever the activity is for the afternoon. Activities may include art projects, music lessons, reading books to the children, or taking part in a math lesson.

After traveling to Hartford this week for a Saturday afternoon game against the Hartford Colonials, the Nighthawks will have a bye week before hosting the Las Vegas Locomotives in their next home game on October 28. Saturday's game in Hartford kicks off at 2pm CST / 3pm EST, while the Nighthawks' October 28 home game kicks off at 7pm CST.
