Omaha Nighthawks News Release
OMAHA - The United Football League announced today that it is suspending operations for the remainder of the 2012 season.
"League ownership has made the difficult decision to suspend operations for the 2012 season," said Nighthawks general manager Matt Boockmeier. "This decision was made after careful consideration and consultation with all parties involved."
The suspension comes midway through the UFL season. The Omaha Nighthawks have played four of eight scheduled games, including two of four home games.
"We have done, and will continue to do, everything we can to bring a great brand of professional football to our fans in Omaha," Boockmeier said. "We are proud of what we accomplished not only this season, but throughout our short history. The organization is grateful to the many fans and partners who have supported us through these last three years."
