Omaha Nighthawks News Release
OMAHA, NE - Thursday, November 11, 2010 - The Omaha Nighthawks will honor the armed forces men and women who serve the United States of America by wearing camouflage jerseys for the Nighthawks' final regular season game on Friday, November 19, at 7pm CDT at Rosenblatt Stadium.
The Wounded Warriors Family Support along with the Ahman Green Foundation for Youth Development have teamed up to make this possible. The commemorative Nighthawks jerseys are currently being produced by SFC, the official uniform supplier of the United Football League.
Leading up to November 19, the jerseys of running back AHMAN GREEN, quarterback JEFF GARCIA, defensive end JAY MOORE and wide receiver ROBERT FERGUSON will be put up for auction on the UFL website www.UFL-football.com. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Wounded Warriors Family Support.
"It is important that we remember the men and women of our country's armed forces who are serving to protect our shores and we felt this was a fitting tribute to them," said Green. "In addition to showing our support through wearing the uniforms, we are also pledging to assist the families of wounded warriors financially, so we hope Nighthawks fans will bid competitively for the jerseys."
On the field immediately following the game, Green, Garcia, Moore and Ferguson will present their camouflage game jerseys to the respective highest bidders.
